Retroactive Continuity III

So I have just gone through and edited both my blogs again. In retrospect, my second round of edits was no where near as thorough as I had hoped, and as such, I found many errors that were left unnoticed. Although my latest edit should have corrected many of these errors and standardized the blogs in consistency, there are, without a doubt, errors still present because I spent a mere week to edit some two hundred posts.

The latest changes include:
  • adding color to GUPS posts
  • capitalizing select words (such as jobs, crafts, game stats, etc.) that I wanted to differentiate from their real-life meanings
  • editing paragraphs to be more cohesive and coherent
  • fixing incorrect math formulas and explanations
  • attempting to fix incorrect comma and quotation usage
  • use formal English
  • proofreading every post a minimum of three times
For the most part, I have kept most of the old content or reworded it to better reflect what I wanted to say. Occasionally, posts would have random tidbits or thoughts that were designed to be cute, but often, these were unrelated to the rest of the post. I have either moved or removed these sentences for cohesive purposes, as stated above.

Hopefully, the blogs will present new and old readers alike something wonderful to read/reread, and if you happen to spot the grammatical errors that I have overlooked, feel free to leave a comment or send an email -- I love corrections.

Retroactive Continuity II

I am free; free at last from another year of university! Whew. Before I get around to updating again, I will be doing another sweep of my blogs to further edit my grammar and spelling. But wait, why is a second edit needed? Well, I suppose after taking a full year's worth of writing courses, I have realized that I have made plenty of grammatical errors in the past, so my posts were probably awful to read. I will also be adjusting my pictures a little because Blogger has released a new and improved text editor. So bear with me people; I am breaking out the grammar gloves and digging into three years' worth of old posts!

To Do List

Lately, I have been tired and worn out thanks to anything from fictional monsters to real life problems. The following is a reminder (to myself) of ideas that I still wish to implement in future posts.
  • Guttler Dialogues
  • Pankration page
  • Damage Calculations
  • Updated WS/TP pages
  • Herder's Subligar testing (FFXIclopedia lists it as +10 Pet Accuracy)
  • Imposter Decu page

    Aloha from Asura

I have decided to give blogging another whirl, but before I start, I would like to state that my second blog is intended to be much lighter than the first. In the event that I am unable to handle real life matters, I might have to stop blogging entirely, but I do not expect that will happen -- I would miss Snippy and Lia too much. Since I am creating a second blog that is similar to my first, I have decided to carry the original layout over, but everything else will be new.

So what is new with Khaki lately? First of all, I have changed my character name to Exemplar, and I have moved to Asura after Ariane and her linkshell gave me the mean, old endgame attitude. As a newcomer to the LS, I just could not handle it, and after a tough decision, I have decided to migrate to Asura and join Decu (a BST that shares ideologies similar to my own) on his home server.

Unfortunately, I have not met Decu in over a month, but I can comment on the differences that I have noticed between servers. For one, Asura seems to boast a large NA population, and there is always a ton of shouts at any time -- the complete opposite of my former server. In addition, the Asuran player base is predominantly English-speaking, a much better situation than the NA/JP divide that I was used to. On the downside, I have not made many friends yet, and there are a lot more craftsmen on Asura than on Diabolos. Overall, I still find the server transfer to be a good decision, so here begins a new BST adventure!

    Layout Changes

There has been a few small changes with my main site recently, and I thought I would point them out in case anyone liked the old layout better.
    1. The number of posts displayed per page has been reduced from 5 to 1. This will help dial-up users load my blog faster and create a more judicial use of my site index (this decision has been reversed in 2009).
    2. The "Quick Reference" links have been moved to the bottom of the page; I have felt that the right-hand side of my blog was getting cluttered, especially with the new shout box (this decision has been reversed in 2010).
    3. My display picture has been changed.
    4. A new link called "Beastmaster Blogs" has been added as a convenient reference to other blogs that I enjoy. If you are wondering why some sites do not have their latest entries below their names, it is because those blog owners have disabled the use of live feeds.

Retroactive Continuity (retconning) is the act of changing documents well after they have been published, established, etc., and I happen to retcon a lot. In addition to my normal editing, I have decided that I wanted to keep my older posts neat and tidy while fixing grammatical mistakes at the same time. So while it seems like I have not been posting a lot, I have been:
      • updating my "BST leveling Guide" links
      • fixing incorrect spacings between pictures and text (Blogger tends cause these problems a lot)
      • correcting my hyphens usage
      • fixing minor/major errors (spelling, nominalization)
      • getting rid of old Snippy Cam pictures
      • updating my "Glossary & Acronyms" page
      • updating older pages with corrections and new information
      • renaming posts to be more descriptive
Please bear with me as I update and correct my old posts. I will be posting my progress as I go, but it will take a while to proofread everything. The checklist will be updated as I go, and new posts will come out when I am finished with everything. Thank you for your patience.

      Shoutbox

I have decided to try a shoutbox with this blog. If all goes well, I might put another shoutbox for my main site as well, even though I do not get that many visitors in a day. However, if enough people shout (no pun intended) at me for one now, I might put one up immediately.
